HAPPY DOT DAY!

We hung up several banners filled floor to ceiling with dot art made by every grade. Their small pieces of art make a big impact when combined. It was such a thrill to surprise the students with these displays this morning.

Here are all the winners of the dot day competition. It was about creativity, and being bold!

We celebrated DOT DAY all this week in the classroom by having Dot Day Parties. Each class make abstract style artworks with a focus on circles and dots. Each station had a different art material for them to experiment with. The results were spectacular. The layouts, the overlapping, the color exploration was truly beautiful. Here is a selection grouped by grade level for you to take a look through.

The students all came in dressed in dots, and my art teacher heart nearly exploded with joy. I am so proud of the artists we have here at Jane Ryan. I made this announcement this morning for all the students, and I truly mean it. I hope everyone here knows just how important it is to create.
