Cities, Kindness Quilts & Choice Art
K and 1st grade worked hard drawing cities, adding lots of details, and coloring them uniquely. We then painted the skys in beautiful sunset stripes. Every grade made a Kindness quilt square to be shared at the next lions den. I put the quilts together for each class for safekeeping and display until the next Lion's den when we will demonstrate the concept of how "big" we can be when we piece together our efforts. Painting Skill Builders
When it comes to choice art we need to provide mini lessons called "skill builders" to ensure the students are learning valuable techniques that they can apply when creating their artworks throughout the school year. We are focused on opening the Painting Center this week and in order to do so everyone must complete the skill builder to show they understand how to use the art materials respectfully, and intentionally as well. Spooky 1st Grade, Collage's & Art Parties
1st grade is stepping up the difficulty with some Haunted Houses - they were loving the details! We sketched together step-by step and then I let them add their own elements. The second day we colored small parts of our artwork with crayons, and painted the rest. They are so cute! 2nd-5th grade worked on collage skill builder exercise 3 weeks ago so I could open the collage art center for everyone. This exposed them to a variety of ways to collage and hopefully got their gear
