1st, 2nd, and 3rd Grade made zentangle hands. This was an exercise in control. They filled each space with a different pattern and carefully colored with sharpie markers. Next they painted their backgrounds in a less controlled way to create contrast between the foreground and background to help their hands really pop off the page.

4th and 5th grade added zentangle details to their paper weavings.

Art Club got together yesterday to begin painting our large scale mural along the hallway heading down stairs to the gym and 4th and 5th grade classrooms.

A bunch of teachers helped too! It was awesome to see the kids feel real ownership over the stripes they painted knowing it will be in the school for a long time to come. So proud of them, and surprisingly not one paint cup was spilled! :)
